Submission of Employment Equity Update

Covid 19 may go away or stay, but Employment Equity is definitely here to stay. The Department of Labour are not relaxing on any of the current requirements for companies to submit their annual reports. The only exception will be if the company goes into liquidation / judicial windings; changes through mergers/acquisitions; labour court orders; insolvency; retrenchments /Section 197 (transfers of business). If this is the case, you need to submit a EEA14 form before the end of August. Companies, who are no longer deemed to be ‘designated’ employers due to numbers of employees or turnover reducing , also need to continue to submit annual reports if their Plan deadline extends beyond 2020 and will need to do so until completion date.
